This latest wireless thermostat by Mitsubishi Electric Trane is an improvement of the MHK1 thermostat kit. It has improved indoor unit function code list (indoor unit type and indoor unit codes expanded to 28), indoor unit compatibility (supports all CITY MULTI, all P-Series, all M-Series), full programmability and better profile on the wall.
Just like the MHK1 RedLINK - Wireless Thermostat and Receiver Kit MHK2 is compatible with the Kumo Cloud when connected with the Wireless Interface 2 (PAC-USWHS002-WF-2) or later.
The MHK2 includes the MRCH2 (remote controller) and the MIFH2 (wireless receiver). The MIFH2 includes the MRC2 cable to connect the MIFH2 receiver to the CN105 connector on the indoor unit control board.
Application setup of MHK2, Wireless Interface 2 and Indoor Sensor
Thanks for sharing this information. I had received an email a few months ago about Mitsubishi releasing this. I recently built a house and had a Mitsubishi system installed. I did a lot of research on the system especially regarding thermostats and app integration. My biggest annoyance with Mitsubishi was that in order to use the Kumo Cloud App you couldn't have Thermostats connected and have App Control at the same time (that I was aware of). Because of that I ended up having the MHK1 kits installed with MRCH1 Wireless remote and MIFH1 Wireless receivers, along with Honeywell RedLINK Internet Gateway because it was important for me to have app control and thermostats. Two months after I had these installed Mitsubishi releases the MHK2 kit, which is exactly what I wanted in the first place. Honeywells TCC app leaves a lot to be desired and really only provides such limited control over the thermostats and units.
In the post above you say:
"Just like the MHK1 RedLINK - Wireless Thermostat and Receiver Kit MHK2 is compatible with the Kumo Cloud when connected with the Wireless Interface 2 (PAC-USWHS002-WF-2) or later."
I have 2 questions related to this:
1. If I already have MHK1 kits installed on my units can I add the Wireless Interface 2 - to Connect it to my MIFH1 recievers so that i will have both Control through Kumo Cloud App and through my MRCH1 thermostat?
- Although I would love to switch my MRCH1 thermostats for the MRCH2 it would cost me a pretty penny to switch my 4 MHK1 kits out for MHK2, which i just bought less then 6 months ago.
2. Is the wireless interface 2 new also, along with the MHK2?
- if not then i feel like i should go back to my installer and tell him i need these for my units.
Thanks for any input!
My ultimate goal is to be able to use the Kumo Cloud with my existing MHK1 kits, since i already have them or achieve Kumo cloud app control and thermostat control, in the most economical way.
Thanks.
