We have been getting a lot of calls on certain laptop models that have been having issues with the PCMCIA to Express card converter. So I am going to go over some of the known issues between this adapter and HP, Compaq, Toshiba and Sony laptops.
Note that these are just known issues that some people have encountered, not everyone will get these issues.
Known issues for Toshiba Satellite P205:
- Laptop is able to see the laptop but gives a error code “31”. “Could not install drivers”
Known issues for HP and Compaq DV1000, DV2000, DV6000 and DV9000:
- DV6000 and DV9000: No laptops in either of the series have worked.
- The slot will only recognize one device. HP wrote the drivers for the laptops to act in this manner.
- DV1000 and 2000: Some laptops have worked with the adapter.
Known issues for Sony Vaio:
- We are not sure of the exact model numbers, but what we do know is that people have had a very hard time getting them to work.
Check out the compatibility list for all known devices that work as well as devices that don’t work. We encourage everyone to post their results on here, good or bad.
