I would like wireless for my desktop. Would the WaveRV II WiFi USB Adapter make a good choice for receiving internet from a distance? Any help would be great thanks.

Yes this is a good choice.

Other popular choices are:

  1. Wave Magnum USB
  2. Engenius Long Range USB adapter

How far do you need to pick up the signal from? We can also custom build a solution using high gain directional antennas and high power WiFi amplifiers or frequency translators depending on your application and budget constraints.
