We just heard some great news... Sprint's WiMax plan is going to the next level and are in line with their goal to have implemented the technology by the end of 2007. They are planning on launching 3 test markets in the next two weeks. The test markets include Wasington D.C., Balitmore, and Chicago.

A spokesman ( John Polivka from Sprint Nextel said that the test markets will launch in two stages:

- 1st stage will include Sprint Nextel employees ( several hundred ) and this will happen by Christmas.

- 2nd stage will happen during 2nd quarter of next year and will expand the number of test users

The spokesman also stated the late in 2008 Sprint Nextel will also commercially launch WiMax embedded devices.

The brand that is being given to to Sprint Nextel's WiMax efforts is Xohm.
