Best method we like to use to remotely monitor CCTV cameras especially for small business applications is using VNC. This actually gives added benefits since the owner is able to monitor systems located on the local machine e.g POS system and help debug issues with the computer etc
Our VNC software of choice is realvnc (more info at www.realvnc.com). The enterprise version is just about $50 for the server per machine (usually these small business just need one server). There's actually a free server but it lacks in security.
