We have some units of the Globesurfer III that are only working on EDGE and not UMTS/HSDPA. Here is a workaround to this that we got from Option support:
Check the default value for the rrc_release_version:
1) Telnet the GS3 : Start=>Run=>type in cmd, then enter,
in the window, type in telnet 192.168.1.1
2) type in user: admin (default ) unless customer changed it.
3) type in password: admin (default) unless customer changed it.
3) And then, type in this command => conf print /modem/rrc_release_version
If the answer for that command is: rrc_release_version(2), then you should put this command and retest:
1) Telnet the GS3 as before
2) type in this commands:
conf set /modem/rrc_release_version 3
conf reconf 1
system reboot
